os midlake venceram a categoria "best live act" da edição de 2010 da "mojo honours list", atribuída para revista mojo. os prémios foram entregues ontem à noite. phil alexander, editor da revista, justificou desta forma a atribuição do prémio aos midlake:

Their new album, The Courage Of Others, is one of those records that simply grows on you the more you play it but which you never tire of. Live, they are really coming into their own, managing to sound both epic and intimate at the same time - a rare ability. It's that quality that has endeared them so to MOJO readers, who voted them top in this tough category.
os outros vencedores da noite foram os the low anthem, cujo vídeo da música "charlie darwin" podem ver no post anterior, como "breakthrough act"; richard hawley, que venceu na categoria de melhor album, com "truelove's gutter"; a música "fire", dos kasabian, foi eleita a melhor música do ano; o grupo the teardrop explodes recebeu o prémio "inspiration award", pelo seu espírito de inovação e impacto, como embaixadores do movimento psicadélico nos anos 80; os islandeses sigur rós foram contemplados com o "the mojo outstanding contribution to music"; marc almond recebeu, das mãos de antony hegarty (antony and the johnsons), que viajou propositadamente de nova iorque, o prémio "the mojo hero award"; o prémio "the mojo classic album award" foi para o disco "the stone roses", dos the stone roses, à beira da passagem do 20º aniversário do album; aos devo foi entregue o "the mojo merit award".
